Project Me
In Chemistry, Ms. Davis gave us a project that deals with our fitness/health goals. In a sense, our client was ourselves because we made this plan and change for ourselves. For example, a change I made was working out more.
This project was a good example of the learning outcome, Work Ethic, because it has us focus on our own lives and see how we can change them. If we didn't, we would let ourselves down and not be a state where we're happy or comfortable. Thus, we had to come up with a way to get to a level of health/fitness where we feel content at.
Another learning outcome that this project helped me expand in is Oral Communication. Communicating our change was an important part because it showed that you did think of one that would personally benefit you. The presentation showed who you are as an eater/exerciser and you felt that you're issues weren't as different from another person's as you heard theirs.

Visual Aids
For this project in Chemgebra, Mr. Hebert assigned our class to create posters that have to deal with rules of exponents and logarithms. First we had to understand (most of) the rules before actually implementing them inside the posters then include the equation itself, an example, and a simple way of remembering what to do. When it came to the actual posters, we had to make it visually appealing and legible while making sure we get the message across in the way we want it.
During this project, we had to learn the rules first otherwise we wouldn't know what to do when it came to explanations. After that we had to make a rough idea of our posters that showed where the words, explanation, title, and example . Before making the final draft, we had to get a special text so it looks neat and lets you know that it's the equation/example. Next, we prototyped it constantly, seeing what worked and what didn't along with using empathy to make sure the readers/viewers understood our content, using Adobe Illustrator. Finally, we made our last draft and scaled it so it can be made into a large, legible poster.
After this project was finished, I felt I grew in critical thinking and content literacy because it used our understanding of the rules and our ability to implement them into the poster.

Fish Kill Sacramento
In this project, we had to figure out what killed the fish in Snake River and who did it. We determined who did it by looking at two data tables, one for a two year record of what the river was before the kill then the table with the data for two weeks during the fishkill. Using these data tables, we determined what was causing these odd changes, if any. Then we proceeded to link the causes to the group responsible and decide how we would fix it.
This project required lots of collaboration. Before going further, collaboration is a learning outcome that is about communicating with your group, class, and teachers. In this project, the collaboration wasn't just in our group. We had to talk to each other to present our findings and our solutions. This would show that despite we knew different things, we were able to determine changes and how to solve them.
Another outcome this project improved was critical thinking. Critical thinking is when you are able to design an end product that meets your client's needs. This project helped me improve in this outcome because our group had to come up with a fair solution to who had to pay money while making sure that it wasn't biased towards one group.

Reusable Usable Art
This project was for the art show on December 13th. We had to create a piece of art out of reusable objects like wood and cans and it had to have a function. The function must actually be useful like a coat rack or a pot for a plant. Another limitation was that you can't just buy an item for a material, like buying canned foods and dumping out the food for the can.
This project required lots of collaboration and trust because the team has to work on their portion of the project at home, which for my team was a coffee can with holes poked in it. Collaboration is the communication with your group, class, and teachers. This project helped improve my collaboration by having me speak with my team on how we should get the cans, get the tools, and split up the work.
One outcome that this project changed was design thinking. Critical thinking is when you are able to design a final product that meets client criteria. This outcome was improved by the process we took in designing the the cans and ensuring the cans don't appear rushed or lazily made.

Radioactive Games and Comics 2013
This project was about designing a comic book or board game that incorporates Radioactivity and Nuclear science in it in some way. The game could be done in anyway from Candy Land to Monopoly style, but you need to include some sort of knowledge of Radioactivity.
The project helped me with content literacy because I applied the knowledge of radioactivity and probability inside of the project. The probability is a fundamental when it comes to games because it what helps make games fun and interesting and refreshing.
