Shoe Ad
In this project, we had to design a shoe ad and turn it in by Friday, August 24th, 2012. We had to make a mock-up and transfer the design to photoshop. Once we had it on photoshop, we had to edit it, color, and add these cool effects. The designing and editing would be the best part in my opinion because you get to make a design that has possibly never been seen before. This would also be difficult because you wanted it to look perfect. You wanted the shoe to look cool and wow people with it. During this process, I learned how to add effects that make it more "3D" in the sense that it pops out and I somewhat learned how to shade images. In general, I believe learning photoshop is the most valuable thing to learn because it's going to used for most art projects and things that require art.
Drive Me Wild Project
For this project in Digital Media, we had to take a car and edit it with our own design(s) using Photoshop and possibly a little bit of Illustrator. This project was due September 10, 2012. During this project, we learned about the pen tool which is very difficult to use but can be better than tracing by hand. In my opinion, this would be the hardest part of the project. You had to get the pen anchor points, the beginning and end of the line segments, perfect along with the curves and lines. Then again, this would be valuable since the pen tool is used in Illustrator, another Adobe image editing/making program, that we might use.
Renaissance Poster
Then you must describe the actual project itself: What class was it for? What date was the project completed? Etc.
This project was about creating a poster for the Anual Sacramento Academic Decathlon. The poster had to be 18x24 and deal with the decathlon theme which was currently the Renaissance. The text had to be legible from a distance and images must be related to Renaissance art, science, logic, speech, etc. The entire poster must be a PSD (PhotoShop Document), however my poster was about Renaissance artist Albrecht Durer. The entire project was due September 26, 2012. During the project, I had a few likes and dislikes. What I loved about this project was learning about artists that weren't Leonardo Da Vinci or Michelangelo because it allowed more diversity in my knowledge about the Renaissance. My dislike was finding a way to make the poster look the way I want it while having it not be a giant clutter of images that block the purpose of it. So far, I learned how to feather images. Feathering is when you select an image and delete the parts you don't want, after deleting the image would appear somewhat "fuzzy" around the edges and blend in. This would allow me to make better collages in the future or even merge images.

Self-Portrait
This project was about us doing a self-portrait. We took a picture ourselves, changed the colors to grayscale, and flipped it upside down. This was to test a drawing technique where you just draw the lines you saw and not the lines you "saw" in your head if it was normal. This would, in my opinion, be effective since the drawing came out good. We followed all these tutorials to color ourselves and make our background. I can say that my favorite part was the coloring and background making because the color choices tell about you. My least favorite was looking at my self-portrait and wondering if it's good enough or no one will like it. I didn't know how to make a good self portrait until now and I figured this would be the most valuable thing I learned.
Monster Movie
This project was about making a movie poster featuring some sort of monster. We had to make the image 18 x 24 while incorporating various things that you would see on a poster like the title, rating, and so forth. So far in this project, I felt geting the final poster done was the best part. You got to see all your hard work and designs in a final image. However, I felt getting the shading and lighting right was the hardest. The shades had to match but if you wanted a glow, it would sort of ruin the feel and look of it. I learned how to cross hatch shade. This and shading in general was important because it determines a flat image to a dimensional and nice looking picture.
Drag and Drop Game
For this project, I had to design a simple drag and drop game. We had to create the objects that had to be dragged and code them so they would work. The best part was seeing the game actually work with all the sounds and objects in order. You did all this work to see it come alive. However, the coding was the hardest part because you had to find what went wrong in 50+ lines of code. However, the coding was a valuable learning experience because it's commonly found in all electronics.
